Why We Do What We Do
You can compare the importance of a sport psychologist to that of any technical coach that an athlete may turn to. While the athlete is the expert in their sport and on themselves, it is still important to seek advice from those trained in specific aspects of sport in order to gain mastery over these skills.
The same can be said for athletes working with KMSP: athletes will work with Kristin to gain mastery over their psychological skills, handling emotions, being able to face difficult situations, and much more.
Life in sport is filled with challenges, and it’s KMSP’s job to help athletes develop the tools to welcome these rather than dread or avoid them. What this looks like will differ from client to client and depends on sport, scheduling, frequency of competition, and above all else, the person!
Overall, the athlete integrates countless physical skills to improve at a sport – but in today’s competitive atmosphere, it is just as important to add sport psychology to the athlete’s toolbox.
